Tighten Up Every Shift.
BMW mounts the G8x shift carrier on rubber to keep gearbox vibration out of the cabin. It does that job well, but it comes at a cost. Under load the carrier moves, so part of every input goes into flexing the bushing before it ever reaches the gearbox. That's the vague, imprecise feel you notice most when you're shifting quickly or driving hard.
Our up-rated mount solves that at the source. The housing is machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminium and black anodised, holding 80A polyurethane bushings that keeps the carrier firmly located while still allowing the small amount of articulation the factory design relies on. The result is a shift pattern that feels tighter and more mechanical, without the harshness of a solid mount.
It's designed to work whether you've kept the factory lever or fitted a short shift kit. With an SSK it makes even more sense: a shorter throw makes any slop in the carrier far easier to feel, and firming up the rear mount lets the kit deliver the precision it was bought for.
Fitment is a direct replacement for the factory part, with no cutting, drilling or modification, so it's a straightforward upgrade that can go back to stock if you ever need it to.
